The Farm "La Torre" takes its name from an ancient tower nearby a rampart on the river Chiese. The old farm is comprised of two adjoining buildings: the farm-house and the country house dating respectively back to the XVII and XVIII centuries. The façade of the farm-house has the appearance of an ancient convent and is the company's emblem shown on all labels of its wines. Although this is a small business the company's land extends over slightly more than 23 hectares. This company already has deep roots in transforming grapes into wine. The last three generations of owners have in fact busied themselves yesterday, as they do today, in making wines of an even higher qualitative level. These wines have found growing appreciation from both customers and expert tasters. The company is easy to reach either from Verona or Brescia (respectively 50 and 25 km away). Once a Bedizzole take the little road that goes up towards the hills heading for Mocasina. The road borders on some of the company vineyards, and finally leads to the village of Mocasina, home of the farm. It is located on a ridge at 180 meters above sea level and offers a wonderful panorama over the river Chiese below and the neighbouring woody thickets. The vineyards and the small olive tree grove that mainly lay around the building are especially looked after, because we at "La Torre" are convinced that the quality of a wine and an oil is obtained firstly in the field and consequentially with the help of technology in the cellar. For this reason it was chosen to plant the vineyards in stony soils, on slopes that are well exposed to the sunlight. Furthermore, the applications of modern pruning techniques which foresee low gemmary loads per stock and high vine densities per hectar, are some of the parameters we apply to obtain high quality grapes, indispensable for then producing wines of a significant weight, fineness and elegant composition.
